Peer Mentoring
This scheme started in September 2012 and there are currently over 40 students in the Sixth Form participating in the programme as mentors to Key Stage 3 pupils.
Pupils in Key Stage 3 are recommended by their Head of Year for a variety of reasons ranging from behavioural, academic, social and emotional support. Mentors are therefore paired to pupils based on suitability.
Role of the mentor
- To meet at least once a week and set weekly targets.
- Support in lessons.
- Support at social times.
All mentors have a booklet that they use to record meetings, set and track targets.
